  Two hours later, Brandon showed up at the old factory, just like he was told.   "Captain Sterling, finally decided to show up, huh?" Gabriel was sitting upstairs on the second floor, mask on, looking down at him.   "Where's Elena?"   "Relax, I'd never hurt my sweet Elena," Gabriel said, slowly removing his mask right in front of him. "Been a while, huh, Brandon?"   "So it really was you," Brandon said, not sounding all that surprised.   "Oh? Seems like you already figured out I didn't die. But does it matter? Look at you now—standing right here, playing by my rules. The almighty Brandon, brought down to this."   Gabriel tossed the mask to the floor—it clattered sharply. "Old friends meeting up again… gotta bring more people to the party, or it's just depressing, don't you think?"
