Gabe woke up alone in Cinda’s bed, sat bolt upright, his heart hammered inside his chest, as he looked at the empty bed next to him. Where the hell was she? Had she up and run away? The house was quiet. He didn’t like it. Not after the night they had just had, had expected her to be right there next to him, still sleeping, to wake her up himself and to see those beautiful green eyes of hers open slowly and look right at him.
But no, she wasn’t there. If she had gotten up and run off? Gotten on that bloody bike of hers and left town? left him?
