Half an hour later, freshly showered and with fresh set of clothes I went to the second floor, right on time for breakfast. But this time when I entered the apartment there were no shouting and giggling and yelling coming from any of the kid. It felt like a big part of my day was missing when neither Alice, nor Soph and not even Jace came running toward me to greet me in their usual good morning.
