Brandon I didn’t sleep the whole night, I remained in my study and drank until the early morning. I knew she wasn’t in the apartment. After the screaming match, we’d had, I had heard the elevator. She had probably gone to second floor, to the kids. And I hated the fact that she went there first, and now I couldn’t. I was sure my black mood would turn better somewhat if I’d just have Alice's pretty eyes on me and her soft voice calling me Daddy. I wanted to be there and listen to Sophie and Jace as they bicker, while Hope and Bast give me their silent company. I don’t know for how long I sat there, but eventually, I staggered up to my feet and realised that I had drank more than enough. I made my way out of the study and into the living room, even knowing that she wasn’t here didn’t hurt
