Chapter 43

2179 Words

A Protector’s Truth Madeline Was it possible? Had I managed to free him this time? Or was I once again too late to stop the inevitable? He was warm, and he smelled like fire and spice, and I felt my body settling into his embrace all by itself. “Hey, keep your eyes open, Madeline. Don't go to sleep,” his voice cracked slightly. I wanted to search the rest of the angels to see if any others had survived the battle that needed to be freed from their chains.
