The Thread Reforged Madeline Even at this distance, I could hear the raised voices through the thick, stone walls. The two guards who were standing guard outside bowed their heads at my approach. Their eyes grew wide in surprise as they each reached for a handle and opened the heavy doors to the Infernal Chamber. The moment I stepped inside, the shouting stopped. All eyes snapped to me, and their heads all bowed slightly—all but a molten set of amber flames flickering at the center of the dais. His gaze was locked on mine as he rose, “Madeline?” He said as he quickly descended the steps and crossed the chamber.
