An intruder

Damon frowned at the sudden request. Everything within him told him no, he had so much to do and certainly could not waste all his time staying with Vanessa. But even as he watched those bright blue eyes, he thought of Aziza and how he would prefer to have her close. His mind ran back instantly to rainy nights, snowy days and hot afternoons where he had all sorts of women lying naked in his arms. His heart tightened inside his chest in an instance. The feeling of guilt, and emptiness suddenly overwhelmed him. “Could she have seen those too?” his thoughts asked him as he thought of the red hair who was always by his side. Suddenly the thought of actually sleeping with other women while she watched made him feel uneasy and slightly guilty. But again, he had to remind himself, they were nothing more than simply a protector and a very rich man. He pulled his gaze away from the blonde who had his eyes for a long time. Maybe he should let her go as she had wanted, at least, he would stop seeing Aziza’s face less and less and might start thinking straight. But that thought left a bitter taste in his tongue and he pushed it away again. Vanessa had waited for him to give her a reply, something she could hold on to, yet he had said absolutely nothing. scared that she would be disappointed and rejected, she pulled herself away from him and looked up at him, so she met his eyes. Just as the many times she had eye contact with him, indirectly, she felt that surge in her heart that had simply made her hold on all these years. “Please,” the words came out of her mouth before she knew it. Damon’s heart sank at the swollen and red eyes she had already and got reminded that her father had died because of him. While Ivy looked on, her heart wishing and praying fervently that he would decline. “Okay, I will do as you want,” he responded and Vanessa leaped into the air and hugged him again while Ivy’s eyes itched at the sight and she turned away in an instant. Her heart felt like it had tightened inside her chest and it was becoming hard to breathe and her beast roared inside her, it scolded her, it roared at her and it pushed her to turn around and snatch Damon away from that woman. But she didn’t, the familiar pain remained in her heart and she moved further away from them with her legs dragging along the ground like she had suddenly had a serious injury. “He can do whatever he wants.” “Just as he had always done. I have no claim over him,” she told herself and the demons inside her. They whimpered at her and ran back to the depths of her with pain in their hearts. She had watched him all her life, she had seen them go in and out of him, she had seen him ravish the body of women and had somehow survived the pain that it brought her. It was no new thing anymore. Without looking back at them, she found something to distract herself with, her phone. She went through it and found a lot of text messages from Sloan. “Hey, it’s Sloan.” “How is it going over there?” “Are you and Mr. Roxwell a thing now? That would be so amazing,” “Charles is going crazy. When are you guys coming back? there seems to be a lot of things that he was supposed to handle.” “No worries, I’m his vice president, I would do it.” She glared at her phone and thought of how that woman would have gotten her number yet she felt slightly happy to be distracted for a while. “Oh, don’t be scared. I’m not the red hair assassin. I simply got your information from the company’s file,” another message came in and she scoffed. “You wish,” she mocked and laughed a little. Sloan had asked her not to be scared, just in case she thought she was the red hair without knowing she was simply a pesky friend to the red hair. She frowned instantly and pushed the thought of having friends away from her mind. They were not friends, not in any way. “What are you doing?” Damon’s voice came from behind her and she turned around in an instance. He was closer now, with Vanessa holding his hand tightly like they were now something. She pulled her gaze away from their hands and turned to her boss as an idea came to her. “Charles and Sloan are freaking out. We have a full schedule today and the clients are not liking the ideas to reschedule,” she said, playing the part of an assistant. “I suggest that we should go already, it’s already been an unresourceful day,” she added. Vanessa glared at her in an instance. She might not have red hair, but that face, that tone and the way she was ruining her plan could make her hate her as much as the red hair as well. “Are you stupid?” she snapped even before Damon could speak. “Didn’t you just hear us make plans just now? And who are you to tell him what to do?” she yelled. Ivy resisted the urge to turn to her, she might allow her demons out and the woman would drop dead if she was not careful. So, she kept her gaze on Damon instead as she waited for him to speak. “Are you deaf?” Vanessa roared when the assistant ignored her and Ivy sighed. She lazily turned her eyes to her, and once again, she imagined killing her, but this time she was going to cut off her tongue first. She looked so frail and weak, skinny and really beautiful. The last time she had seen her, she had seen a demeanour of a calm, peaceful and level headed person. She had solely imagined wrong then. “I wasn’t speaking to you ma’am,” she replied with an edge to her tone even as she added ‘ma’am’ “You b***h,” Vanessa let go of Damon and lifted her hand into the air again. Ivy glared at it, she saw it coming and simply wished she could teach her a little lesson. Still, she could not, so she closed her eyes and braced herself for impact. But seconds passed and the hard sting that made her jaw hurt and destroyed her hearing for a while never came. Instead, she felt nothing but a little of Damon’s scent. Confused, she opened her eyes and found him standing closer to her with Vanessa’s hand held by him as it hung in the air. “I let you do it twice because you simply did not understand and because you are grieving. But that face is important to me, don’t attempt to hit it again,” he growled protectively and with a slight anger to his tone. Vanessa was simply going out of the line and he was regretting spending the day with her already. She said nothing, shocked and surprised that he had intervened like that, she only stared at him while she thought of the kind of relationship he would have with a mere assistant. He turned away from her, without uttering another word and turned to Ivy who was also staring at him with wide eyes. The tingling sensation returned into her heart and a smile threatened to break out of her lips. She had not expected him to intervene, but he did. She shook the feeling away, shook the thought away and focused on what she was supposed to do. She was Aziza and simply did not need his help for anything at all. “You should go back to the office,” he said softly to her and her heart fell. She gave him a nod and turned around without saying a thing anymore and just walked along. She ignored his cars, and pretended to be looking for a cab, till she was out of eyeshot, then she ran. Seeing that he had no intention of actually going back to the office, she returned home, took a quick shower and a pee then she changed and returned to him. Only she remained in her most favourite spot, the top of a building and watched as his cars and Vanessa’s cars drove into her father’s mansion. She watched the both of them with bitterness in her eyes as he helped her down and tried to lead her inside. But she shook her head and got back into the car, this time pulling him along. She sighed in relief to see that they were not going into a room at least and followed them as they found themselves in a club. She frowned at the thought of Vanessa being drunk and Damon being his s*x freak self again. Her demons growled and she shut her eyes right before she felt someone coming. Why was that thought hurting more than before? “You seem to hate this,” a familiar voice said from beside her and dropped a bag of chips on the floor she sat on, then he took a seat beside her and turned his eyes to the club. Aziza didn’t bother turning to Russel, she was still very annoyed with the man and he knew that. That was why he had gotten rid of his fears and came to her. “I hate a lot of things,” she mumbled and he chuckled at the truth in that. “This seems to top it all,” he responded. “I wonder what he would do after drinking all this? Damn, it would be really nasty and pleasantly filled…” a growl escaped Aziza’s throat before he could finish his statement. He turned his eyes to her slowly and watched the angry look on her face. He had thought that she simply hated watching him have s*x since it was like watching porn at home. But now…his heart leaped at the thought that suddenly came to him. “You don’t want him f*****g her?” he asked with bright eyes and a joyful tone. He would do anything to make her feel at least. “Why are you here?” she replied with a question and the bright look in his eyes darkened at the way she evaded his question. “Tell me, do you…” “I remember that you refused to pick my call or call back earlier,” she interrupted with an edginess to her tone. Her anger was slowly rising, not just Russel but for Damon and Vanessa. She hated the sight of them but simply could not look away from them. Vanessa would not stop laughing, and always touching Damon either by his thighs or his arm. She was not even too drunk, yet her face was always leaning towards him at every second. “I was busy,” Russel lied and she scoffed. “You never get too busy for me. If you miss a call, you call back or you find your way to me. Don’t f*****g lie.” He sighed heavily and thought that it might not have been a good idea to come see her. He was just scared that she was going to bring up the topic. “But never mind all that,” she added. “I was not able to heal as quickly last night, what happened?” she asked the question that made him wish for the ground to open up and swallow him. He gulped hard and picked up the chips in his hand, then he opened it nervously and poured a little into his mouth. Aziza smelt his fear and for the first time, she turned her gaze to him. He shrank into his skin at eye contact and could only imagine his death. But she suddenly felt another presence. Another scent, and another gaze on her. It was so powerful, it was no human. She moved away from Russel and sniffed the air for a better scent while he watched her. But the scent was everywhere and it seemed like whoever it was, was everywhere as well. Letting out a low growl that threatened her existence and that of Damon, she closed her eyes, opened her palms and took a deep breath then she snapped her eyes open and growled. “Werewolf.”
