Damon walked over to the balcony and stood there for hours till night fell. The air was cool, calm and beautiful and it helped to curb the pain and anger growing inside of him. But it gave him time to mourn the man he never met, the woman he never knew. He wondered what they were like. Were they wicked? Heartless rulers, were they kind and sweet, did they do good or simply deserved death? He wondered if they loved him enough or if they saw him as a burden? He wondered what it could have been like growing up with them beside him. It was over even before it began and the past was gone and buried, wasn’t it? That thought burned his heart and filled him with regret and a lot of what ifs. Those answers were something he could not have and they would forever remain that way. But something else
