My body continues to tremor violently as Caden holds on to me as we all head outside the place the Djinn claimed as a home.
The sun is barely breaching over the horizon, filling the night sky with pale yellows and purples, showing us the destruction of this town. Buildings are burned and the land is barren of any life. I walk over to what could have been a small shack, and rip off a piece of curtain to cover my naked body from shifting. I turn to the Askeri as they look over the land with sorrow filled faces.

Everyone’s injured to the point where they’re either hobbling or squinting in pain. I was able to bring Caden back before my energy was depleted, but it wasn’t enough to seal up his wound. That will take time.
