1567 Words

Harlow rides through the thick trees, there is no direct road. The road will take so much longer. She is skilled enough to be able to travel the dirt tracks at a fast enough speed that it'll take about half the time as going by asphalt. She tries to keep her hands steady on the throttle. Her mind is filled with images of the silver dagger. The thing that scares her the most of all is the possibility of finding Austin dead already, the possibility of just being that moment too late. She didn't let it get into her mind before this, but as the trees race by in a blur, she can't help but see the blood and see what might be. Even the mere thought of it chokes her up, makes her unable to function. She has no idea how she negotiates through the trees. She has no idea how she even keeps the bike
