I wasn’t sure what woke me up. It shouldn’t have been the quiet way Elijah moved away from me and out of my apartment, but in the end, I think it might have been. I told myself it was nothing. He probably had to run out real quick. But then my brain started functioning and I remembered that he didn’t have to be outside to do anything if it meant sneaking out of my bed.
So I waited for him to shut the door, before I struggled to get up and watch him through the window. I watched as he disappeared into the night, only to resurface moments later, carrying a sleeping girl in his arms and I froze.
What was Elijah doing with another woman in his arms after he had just been with me?
