Hazel POV The house was dark and quiet when I finally slipped through the front door. My legs felt like they belonged to someone else—weak and trembling after the long night. The racing suit had been returned, and I was back in my old hoodie and jeans, but I still smelled like gasoline and burnt rubber. My eyes were swollen from crying on the way home.
