Cole and I saw each other after class today. For a second there, I thought of going over to him to say hi. But he just stared at me with a look of disdain, and then he walked away.
Ouch.
He never looked at me that way before. I felt a pang in my stomach as I watched him disappear from the building. This was a reality that I had to get used to. I could have Ryder, but I couldn’t have my best friend anymore.
This is going to be harder than I thought. Way, way harder.
* DING! *
Suddenly, a text chimed into my phone, pulling me out of my daydreaming. It was a text from my mom.
Mom: Hey hon! Just wanna check up on you. How's school?
Kara: Good, I just got an A on my Lit studies midterm.
Mom: WTF! Well done!
Kara: Mom, do you know what WTF m
