I felt my back press into her body and the dagger digging into my skin a little more, drawing blood.
“Look who came running into the tiger’s den.” Her whispers were like ants crawling around my skin. It filled me with dread. “Sophia, I think even the goddess is on my side. Did you think you’d fall into my hand like this?”
She was alive. That was the first thought that ran through my mind. And then the danger I was in.
