Lucien’s POV. I’d been watching her instead of the fireworks. Amazed by how the several colors illuminated her face as she stared up at it. She looked so ethereal, so beautiful, so warm. I couldn’t lie to myself anymore, how much I was drawn to her. How frequently I think about her these days and then I heard the whispers, causing me to look at the board which hard been part of her design for this ball, now displaying words that called her a murderer. My brows drew up in worry, wondering who had done this and I looked back at her, to see if that had shaken her but then I froze in my spot when I saw the wicked smile that spread across her face. It lasted for a brief moment and was gone the next. She smiled. She f*****g smiled. I looked back at the board and wondered. Did she do that?
