After showing Nadia to the guest room prepared for her, I made my way to Asher's office. He had mindlinked me to meet him there and I could already tell what conversation was pending between us.
I knocked once before entering.
Asher was at his desk but he wasn't working. He was leaning back in his chair with his arms folded, looking at me the way he did when he had been sitting with something for a while and had run out of patience for it.
Tonight, I was that something he was running out of patience with. I didn't need to ask to know that.
He looked at me for a f*****g whole minute without saying anything.
