I should not have been so surprised. A part of me wished I had not looked so surprised when she said it. Maybe I should have milked the situation a little bit—played on her intelligence, made her believe I was in fact the one responsible for what was happening in her company. But I hadn’t.
I had looked so surprised that she paused mid-threat, looking at me with surprise too.
“Are you not the one who ordered that the whole line of designs should be taken down because it was stolen from you? The news is all over the Internet, and now all my sponsors are pulling out,” she said.
