The shock kept me from saying anything, even as she opened her mouth to talk.
“Did you see that, Monica dear? She is trying to poison me! I don’t know what it is about her that she finds so special. I’ll make sure Adrian fires her. She is so rude!” Emily went on and on, justifying herself.
I was angry — my fingertips already cracking from the pressure I placed on my palms as I dug them in.
“That is not fair! Stop that!” Kylian yelled.
“You rotten child! Shut your stupid mouth or I’ll shut it for you,” Emily snapped back.
“You won’t dare!” Kylian shot back.
I just stood there, watching them banter until Emily got up, strode over to where Kylian stood, and raised her hands.
