Blurb and Author's Note

341 Words
“Rule #4: No fated mate” Crescent Lake’s beta, Reid Thomas, has set rules when it comes to females. Rules he made for himself and follows down to the letter. But when he accidentally breaks one and has to go on a blind date because of it, he meets someone who could very well have him breaking all of his rules. NOTE: This is Book 2 of the Crescent Lake series. It can be read as a standalone. However, for context and an introduction to the world and characters, it is recommended that you read "The Alpha's Pen Pal" before reading "The Beta's Blind Date." This book is intended for 18+. The book deals with real life situations which may trigger an emotional response in some readers, and it will have graphic scenes of violence and descriptive sex scenes, as well as adult language. But there is no cheating and no mistreatment by mates and there is a happily ever after. This book takes place 3 years after the main events of Pen Pal (two years after the epilogue). Character ages in this book: Reid: 27 Wesley: 27 Haven: 24 Imogen: 29 Nolan: 28 Rachel: 27 Sebastian: 25 Maya: 24 Levi: 24 Madeleine: 18 General info about the shifter world and "rules" in this series: All wolves with alpha blood (born directly from an alpha) are lycans. Lycans have their first shift at 13. Regular wolves have their first shift at 14. Mates can be sensed when both mates are 21 years old. Second chance mates do exist. Rejection can only happen under a full moon. I plan to begin regular updates for this book on September 4th. Updates will likely be 3x a week, MWF, with the occasional weekend update if I am ahead on chapters. I am currently working on a short side project right now, as well as getting Pen Pal ready for print.
