I knew we couldn’t stay hidden in the woods forever, so I turned to Jack and suggested we return to the pack. He always supported my decisions, so I took a deep breath and explained we couldn’t avoid our problems indefinitely. As night fell, a sense of unease settled over me. Upon our return, I noticed the pack hardly acknowledged us. The outline of the unfinished packhouse loomed ahead, and I spotted a large tent for the Alpha nearby.
