I woke up late, with the morning sun streaming through the huge wall-to-wall windows. I reached out to Annie, who was still sleeping soundly in my arms. I ran my fingers through the curls of hair on her head, brushing them through it. I loved her hair, I loved touching it.
Annie stirred in her sleep, and I felt her forehead against my chest. I wrapped my arms even tighter around her, knowing exactly how she would feel in my arms, how she would fit against me. She always fit perfectly. It was almost as if she and I had been designed for each other.
