Chapter 144 Scarlet I waited in Xavier's room, the hours ticking by slowly. The anticipation and frustration built up inside me as the day passed without any interaction between us. Xavier seemed to be avoiding me just as much as I was avoiding him. It infuriated me that he had the audacity to stay away from me after everything that had happened between us. Throughout the day, I wandered aimlessly through the pack house, finding myself in Xavier's office, only to leave moments later. I even made a conscious effort to avoid Xavier's mother, Regina. There was something unsettling about her gaze, something that made me uncomfortable. I couldn't quite decipher the emotions hidden in her eyes, but I sensed a mixture of pity and animosity directed towards me. It was best to keep my distance.
