I slowly opened my eyes, feeling the piercing pain in my head. My mind raced back to what happened the day before. Lilith. Absorbing her powers. Killing her. The memories flashed before my eyes, causing my head to throb even harder.
As I tried to sit up, I realized that I was in my room, lying on my bed. The sun had already risen, and the room was bright with the light that filtered through the curtains. I groaned and rubbed my temples, trying to soothe the headache.
Just then, Xavier appeared in my doorway, looking concerned. "Hey," he said, "How are you feeling?"
I forced a smile and said, "Like someone cast a spell on my head. But I'm okay."
