Rose had been away for the day and had just returned home. “Bella, thank the Goddess you’re alright,” Rose said, her voice trembling with relief. “I heard about the rogue attack—I was terrified when I found out. How the hell did that happen?" Her concern was genuine, her eyes full of worry. Isabella told her everything that had happened, carefully leaving out the part about Killian and their unsettling closeness.
