‘As if you wanted to go back,’ her wolf’s voice hissed inside her head. The wolf wasn’t angry about the run—she was angry at Isabella for shouting at Killian. The wolf clearly didn’t share her feelings; in fact, it seemed she had a crush on him. Isabella ignored the comment. She would find her way back later. Right now, she wanted peace—just a moment to think without anyone hovering over her. She shifted back, slipped her clothes on, and sank down under a broad oak tree. Its rough bark pressed into her back as she leaned against it, eyes falling shut. That’s when she heard it. A low growl cut through the stillness. Her eyes snapped open, her muscles tensing.
