I sighed internally.
Reika had been muttering the same string of sentences for the last half hour. She thinks that Emrys is angry with us, or that maybe we hurt his feelings somehow. I don't think that's the case, and I tried to tell her that. However, Reika is persistent.
Emrys hasn't said more than a handful of words to me since we left his apartment. I heard the conversation he had with his friend Duncan. It seemed harmless though. Duncan only seemed to tease Emrys a bit for bringing home a girl.
However, Emrys knows that it's not like that. It's not like we're dating. Emrys isn't bringing me home to meet the fam. I'm only meeting them to protect them. Emrys is only doing this because I'm not sure when he's going to see his family again.
