Nigella was only give when her birth mother, Rina, had very conveniently left her with her Papa. But the five years that she had spend with Rina were not that great either.
She was one of those mother's who found problem in a child even if they didn't have any. She often punished Nigella for picking fights the neighborhood kids when she wasn't the one who started it. She was not allowed to eat snacks and chocolates for petty reasons.
Those little things were a big part of her childhood.
She also admit that she was lucky to have such a loving Papa, a beautiful family that loved her. But Rina did not leave her with the intention to give Nigella a better family or that she would recieve abundance of love.
