I startle awake, my cry for help fading into the darkness and it takes me a moment to realise that I’m looking into a set of red eyes that are indeed very real.
“Another nightmare?” His deep voice vibrates through me, and I nod, still catching my breath.
He captures my lips in a kiss, before breaking it to observe my face to check if I’m alright.
“Shouldn’t you be in the hospital?” I whisper, leaning back down as Kai moves on top of me.
