“Solana, bye! See you tomorrow!” Cherry said loudly and wave at me. “See you tomorrow too! Oh, no, the day after tomorrow, Cherry. Tomorrow is a parents meeting, we don't have a class.” I reminded her. I almost forgot about the parents meeting tomorrow, because it was supposed to be on friday, so why was I held on Tuesday? “Oh, I forgot about that too! Thanks for reminding me about that! So, see you on Wednesday, Solana!” She giggles again and walk away. Me, I will wait here for Mama to pick me up here. I hope she come early. I'm too tired already. I can go home in my own but there's no jeep in this area, so my mom pick me up here. I sat down here while looking at my surroundings. “Hay! Where's Mama?” I mumbled out of nowhere. I'm too tired to move around. I hope Mama will come. I want to sleep after eating my lunch. How many times have I held my breath? I'm kinda bored already. I'm starting to count the people who passed in front of me now, because I'm really bored. “One... Down... Three... Four... I'm hungry...” I snorted as I looked in front of me. I just looked at my feet while playing with them. I've been doing a lot of things here, but Mama still isn't here. I guess I'm the only morning shift here at Lazaro High. “Mama, where are you?” I shouted as I could. But, I stopped when I saw a man in front of me. I was surprised to see brother Calvin standing in front of me. “Have you been waiting for a while? Sorry, we're stuck in traffic, Solana. Let's go? We'll also buy a food before we go home.” Brother Calvin said smiling to me. He extended his right hand to me, I took it. "Brother Calvin!" I said his name loud. I nodded to him. "Yes. I've been waiting for a while. I thought Mama would pick me up, that's why I'm waiting for her... That's why it took so long for Mama to come even thought it was close to school, because she wasn't the one to pick me up today po, it's you! I'm hungry, brother Calvin!" I told him. He took my backpack and slung it over his right shoulder. “I know, so let's go? Let's leave, so we can drive thru for your food.” We both walked and I saw his black and red car, his car has two colors. He opened the door on passenger seat, I saw how clean his car is. I entered to his car and I sat in the passenger seat. Brother Calvin immediately closed the door on my side and I saw him running to the other side, entering the driver's seat. I was surprised when he leaned towards me, he took the seat belt from my side and attached it to me. My chest was beating fast. “You need a seat belt.” He smiled at me. “What food do you want? Is it still the same?” he asked me. I'm still looking at him. I looked away from him. “Um...” I don't know why my heart beating faster, faster and faster. My eyes widened when brother Calvin's wide hand reached out. I felt both of my cheeks heat up. “Are you okay, Solana? You suddenly turned to pale and became silent. Are you really hungry?” He asked me worriedly. I swallowed and smiled at him. “Of course, brother Calvin. I'm just hungry.” I said quickly and looked at the window, on my side. I really don't know what happened to my heart. Maybe I'm sick? But, I'm too young to get sick. Oh my gosh! Should I tell to Cherry about this? Or, not? Or, maybe I'm hungry so that my heart is beating faster right now. Maybe that's the real problem. I'm hungry. The car stopped in my favorite fast food restaurant. I looked at brother Calvin when he told the cashier about our order. “Solana, what else do you want? I already ordered your large fries with caramel sundae and spaghetti with chicken. What else would you like to add?” He asked me. That's a lot! I feel like they are making me fat. I shook my head at him. “That's okay, brother Calvin. That's too much and I might not be able to finish-” I didn't finish what I was going to say when he spoke. “Not enough for you. Oh, I need palabok and hotdog sandwich, Miss, and give me this too, potato chips. That's it!” He said to the woman. She confirmed brother Calvin's order and she guided us to the next window, when we can get our order. “Brother Calvin, you order is too much for me po. I can't eat it all po. You should get some too,” I said it to him. He shook his head at me. “No, Solana. Actually, that's not enough for you. You need more food, so that you can get more nutrients.” I got question on my mind right now. The food he orders are not healthy after all, so can I get the nutrients that's he wants to? No. I wanted to said to him, but I smiled at him and I choose to be quiet. He's my Mama's boss. I can't argue him. Definitely not! “Solana, how's your school?” He asked me, while waiting for our order. It's too long to served because he ordered too much. “Um, it's good, brother Calvin. We had a quiz earlier, I got perfect score!” I smiled at him. “And, tomorrow, we don't have a class because there is a parent's meeting for our graduation this March. You and brother Ceres will graduate this year too?” I asked him with a smile in my face. He held my right hand. “Your hand is really soft, Solana. So, don't let others hold your hand, especially boys, except me and Ceres, okay? About your question, being I graduate this year? Nope, I still have a year before I graduate. But, Ceres will graduate this year,” he said to me. I looked at him, I saw his face got serious. “Um, why, brother Calvin? Both of you and brother Ceres are same age, right? So, why brother Ceres graduating this year?” I asked him. Mama said they are twins and they will graduate together this year, so why only brother Ceres? I can't get it! He touched a few strands of my hair. “You'll know why soon, Solana, okay? But, I'm glad I haven't graduated yet, I don't need to work in our business yet. And, my course isn't about business either. Ceres will take care of the business that our family has. My only role is to watch over you and make sure you're safe— Oh, our food is here!” My forehead furrowed when I heard the last last thing he said. Me, will he watch over me and make sure that I'm safe? For what? I didn't say a word anymore and just accepted the food that brother Calvin gave me. He really ordered a lot, will I finish it all? I just gulped and wondered how they would run out and fit in my stomach. “This is too much, brother Calvin. Can we divide this food? I really can't eat it all!” I told him. “No, eat all that, Solana. You're too thin and we don't like it, okay? Don't imitate other girls who are too thin. Don't believe that when you're fat you have an unhealthy lifestyle, okay? Believe us, we won't hurt you.” I bit my lower lip. “But, I really can't finish it, brother Calvin. For sure, you're tired too, so you should eat too. So let's just split!” I tried to say. “You can put the other food aside, Solana. You can eat the leftovers later or tomorrow, Solana. all of that is for you, okay?” he said to me in a baritone voice. I couldn't do anything but follow him. He started the car back to their house, the Lazaro Mansion. I also started eating the fries and caramel sundae. I'm sure Mama will scold me when she sees that I brought a lot of food. When we got inside their house, he parked the car and I immediately got out of his car. “Brother Calvin, thanks for today! Thanks for picking me up and thanks for the food, I'm so full!” I smiled at him. I lifted the paper bag where the other food that brother Calvin ordered for me was. He smiled at me. “No need to say thanks, Solana. We will do everything for you.” That's what he says again that I don't understand. I just smiled at him and walked towards our headquarters. “Solana! Finally, you are here! How's your day at school? And, did you say thank you to Young Master Calvin?” I saw Mama and that's what she immediately asked me. I nodded at her. “Of course, Mama! I thanks him! Brother Calvin, bought me a food!” I showed Mama the food that brother Calvin bought for me. I saw the shock on her face. “You're embarrassing, Young Master Calvin,” she exclaimed to me. “I thanked him again, Mama. He said I should keep the rest for my dinner later! I told him it was too much, but he didn't want to believe it and listen to me.” I explained to Mama. “Never mind, Solana. Oh, come into our room and change your clothes so I can wash your uniform right away, after you change, eat and sleep. I'll clean the study room of Young Master Calvin and Young Master Ceres.” Mama said to me, so I nodded. I'm really going to sleep, I'm tired from my whole day at school. “Okay, Mom!” I said quickly and ran into our room. Another day is gone. I want to sleep already, when I change my clothes. It's too cold to our room, until my eyes shut down. My whole surroundings turns to black.
