Benjamin, who knew Serena like virtually no other, decided to let her cool down for a couple of days before contacting her again. In hindsight, he believed he shouldn’t have. Indeed, when, after two days of evading Emma’s invitations to hang out, he called her, she didn’t even bother to pick. He knew her schedule enough to know she wasn’t supposed to work that evening… and yet, she didn’t pick up.
