The forest was seen nearby; I could hear the distant commotion of the trial from behind us. Marlon’s army did a decent job of keeping them from chasing after us. Most of them probably didn’t realize we had left the area and were running towards freedom. I was glad that Kamala was nearby and didn’t stay behind to fight alongside Bob.
As much as we both wanted to run back and help our mates fight in this battle, we knew it wasn’t in the best interest of our survival. I needed to get back to Mateo and make sure he was safe. I needed to make sure this unborn child was also safe.
