Ava's P.O.V The drive home was silent, too damn silent. The boys sat close to one another staring out the window as Hudson drove. Jemson held Thomas around the shoulders occasionally, making sure that Thomas was okay. I stole glances at Hudson hoping he would break the silence, but he just stared right back at me, shrugging his shoulders... Out of the two, Jemson was going to be the hardest one to get through to. He had this angry expression on his face, like a brooding, grumpy bear who had his food taken from him. He was trying to be brave, to be a big brother to Thomas and I loved how protective he was over his brother, but what if it proved to be a toxic kind of protectiveness? The kind where he influenced Thomas to do everything to piss us off in order to be sent back to their fathe
