Hudson convinced me that this was the right thing to do. If this was our only shot at helping Thomas, then we should take it, but that didn't mean I liked it... Leaving him here all on his own with no family felt like we were neglecting him. Abandoning him. I knew first-hand how it felt to be abandoned by someone you thought loved and cared for you and that was the last thing I wanted Thomas to feel.
