What?! How?! I blanched, sickened and all kinds of disgusted. My eyes meet with his milky ones and for a horrifying second, the world stills and I see it. I see it so very clearly hidden in the haze and the burnt skin. The gold in his eyes. The pale yet perfect complexion. The indifferent look on his face that I’ve seen so many times on my own mother.
