I’d made the right decision to stay away, right? He was too good to be with someone as messed up as me. From where I stood, swallowed by the shadows, I watched Niran kiss him like he meant the world to him and maybe he did. I hadn’t meant to eavesdrop in their conversation but it had confirmed everything I’d tried to deny. He was considerate, unlike me. Wouldn’t get mad so easily but for me, I knew when it came to Beck, anything would trigger my rage. I hated that fairy-wolf boy more than anything but mainly because he could have him and I couldn’t.
