The door slammed shut, reverberating through the room, leaving an unsettling silence. I stood there, trembling with a mix of anger and hurt. Gabriel’s words had cut deep, reopening old wounds I had worked so hard to bury. He accused me of killing a member in cold blood. Jonas had been a mistake—a terrible, irreversible mistake. But it wasn’t one I had made lightly. It wasn’t something I had wanted to do. Gabriel knew that, or at least I thought he did. Yet, he had used it against me in the heat of the moment, questioning my judgment and loyalty to my peers. I had been away for so long that people still questioned me. They didn't believe I meant any harm, but Gabriel knew my fears and intentions and still said those hurtful words. I exhaled slowly, trying to calm the storm of emotions
