Delilah's POV I strained to hear what was going on. The voices outside my door were low and muffled at first, then slowly getting clearer. "—can't let her skip this." Ryker's voice. "Maybe we should give her more time," Mom said, but she didn't sound convinced. "Vivienne, she's had almost a week. The longer she waits, the harder it'll be." My stomach dropped. I knew exactly what they were talking about. Training. Today was training day. A knock on my door made me jump. "Delilah?" Mom called. "Sweetheart, are you awake?" I stayed silent, hoping they'd go away. Another knock, firmer this time. "Delilah, we know you're awake. Open the door please." I had no choice. I dragged myself out of bed and opened the door. Mom and Ryker stood in the hallway, both already dressed for the day
