I laid in the snow, feeling the way that the cold seeped into my body, engulfing me in a wave of ice. I had sunk into the soft substance perfectly, causing it to mould around my body. Matthew was standing above me, looking like he was ready to snap at me for wasting so much time on watching clouds. “Lay down with me.” I have no idea where the invitation had come from, by I certainly hadn’t meant for it to slip out. I opened my eyes so that I would be able to look at him, and when I found him looking down at me with a frown, I became more determined to keep him out here. He needed to learn that despite who he was, not everything could happen on his terms. “Why would I do that, Blair? It’s cold. And I’m sure that it’s not good for you.”
