I have no idea how much time had passed, time in which I had done nothing other than stare at myself in the small, square-shaped mirror above the basin in the bathroom—feeling like I had absolutely no control over where I looked. There was a feeling of discomfort that was seeping through my arteries, spreading through every inch of my body. What seemed to make things that much worse, was that my shoulders seemed to be squaring farther and farther, becoming more and more tensed. I had done nothing to change my appearance.
