I ran, going as fast as my legs could carry me, pushing myself harder than I had ever done before. I could feel my heart hammering against my chest, feel the burn in my lungs as I struggled to breathe, as I struggled to get even a fraction of the oxygen that I needed. But still, I refused to stop. I couldn’t stop. Not when everything was going to plan... The wolves behind me let out a howl, calling those behind them, telling them to pick up. Their actions almost caused me to smile, because that was exactly what I wanted them to do. I needed more of them—I needed all of them. If this was going to work the way that I wanted it to, then I needed as much of them with me as I could have. I looked over my shoulder, not even surprised in the slightest of ways to see that they were miles behin
