I stared at the knife, my eyes still staying wide, while dozens upon dozens of thoughts started to flicker, to drift through my mind as I did so. I couldn’t help but find it difficult to cling to one single thought, my mind seeming to kick into overdrive as panic made itself known within my body. It felt like I was being forced to acknowledge that my flight or fight instinct existed, forced to resist the urge to turn around, to run away as fast as I could from all of this.
