FIRST KISS
AMBER’S POV
There are moments in life when you feel so at peace you wish you could pause time and stay there forever. Like this very moment, for example. Everything feels calm; still like the world has slowed down just for us.
Okay, maybe not completely calm. The bass from the speakers is still rattling the ground, and I’m pretty sure the DJ’s mission is to singlehandedly destroy everyone’s eardrums. Honestly, I’m beginning to believe I have no taste in music, because everyone else inside is practically worshipping the beat.
“Okay, maybe the music isn’t that bad,” Theo says suddenly, as if reading my mind. He takes another sip from his cup, squinting like he’s trying to convince himself. “Yeah… I can almost begin to understand Derek’s taste now.”
