CLOWN

1135 Words

Zala didn’t make it halfway back before violently wiping her tears away and they couldn't even fall. With trembling hands, she put the necklace back on to hide her identity and leaned into the closest corner she could find before slumping down against the wall. She sat on her butt with her head on her raised knees, trying with all her might to not break down in tears. She was hurt, angry and so disappointed in him. But she was also relieved. So relieved. She’s been so scared even as her relationship with Orpheus developed. After all, no matter what he was Kevoy’s friend; at least that was the lie he told her. So how could she not be nervous and scared? She knew that with how her relationship with Orpheus was developing, she was going to end up choosing him when all was said and done.
