Chapter 2

　　Paige’s POV

　　"Paige?" Noah's deep voice cut through the air, his black eyes flashing dangerously as they locked onto me. My breath hitched as I caught the emotions in his gaze—not guilt, not shock, but pure fury. My wolf, Tiana, snarled inside my mind, her silver fur bristling. "He dares look at you like that after what he’s done?"

　　I had spent three year believing I could tame the wild heart in him, but now I saw the truth—his loyalty was never truly mine.

　　"What are you doing here?" His voice was sharp, his fingers adjusting the cuffs of the long-sleeved polo I had gifted him last month.

　　Instead of answering, I turned to the she-wolf beside him. Thalia stood there with a smirk twisting her lips, as if she'd already won, looking at me with disgust—when I was the one who should be disgusted by her. I balled my fists, Tiana urging me to strike.

　　I didn’t hesitate.

　　"OUCH!" Thalia shrieked as I yanked her hair hard, my nails digging into her arm.

　　"F*CK! STOP IT, PAIGE!" Noah’s command boomed through the room, but I barely registered it.

　　Thalia was weaker than me. Catching her off guard, I slapped her twice across the face before she could react.

　　"NOAH, HELP ME!" Thalia writhed, her voice shrill. "LET ME GO, YOU CRAZY b***h!"

　　A humorless laugh tore from my throat. "YOU’RE THE DISGUSTING ONE HERE—"

　　Then his hands were on me, shoving me back with enough force to send me crashing to the floor. I whimpered after I twisted my right wrist. Tears rolled down my cheeks again because of pain but the fact that Noah pushed me to the floor is more painful. He’s now looking at me with rage while hugging his mistress.

　　Tiana howled inside me, her voice with betrayal. "He chose her. Over us."

　　Tears blurred my vision as I cradled my injured wrist, my voice trembling. "I’m hurt, Noah."

　　"I DON’T f*****g CARE!" His roar made the walls tremble, his Alpha aura pressing down on me. "GET OUT BEFORE I THROW YOU OUT MYSELF."

　　My heart shattered. I cried harder as I watched him cupping Thalia's cheeks. Slowly, I tried to lift myself up. Oliver helped me up, his grip gentle but his expression grim. The employees of Hanson Group watched from the doorway, their pity like salt in the wound.

　　I bit my bottom lip as I felt like I was drowning in shame. I slowly walked to the door and closed it, shielding the humiliating scene from prying eyes.

　　Drawing a deep breath, I straightened my spine - this time refusing to debase myself or let him trample my dignity underfoot.

　　Gritting my teeth, I declared."Noah, I'll sign your mating bond dissolution papers. I accept your rejection. "

　　I opened the door to leave. One last glance at Noah—foolishly hoping he'd change his mind, choose me instead—but he was too busy murmuring to Thalia, his hands cupping her face like she was something precious.

　　He remained completely indifferent to my rejection.

　　Tiana whimpered, her pain mirroring mine. I pity myself. I’m so helpless and broken. I swallowed hard and sobbed again. He just broke me completely.But I knew, however agonizing, this had to end.

　　"You shouldn't have left the hospital, Paige." Aunt Precy kept nagging as she rewrapped the bandage around my wrist. "Look what you've done to yourself. Why would you injure your wrist?"

　　I couldn't answer. Staring blankly at the ceiling, my mind felt numb. Since the incident, I still couldn't process it.

　　Tiana curled into herself, her usual vibrant presence reduced to wounded whimpers. "He broke us."

　　I didn't argue. Because she was right.

　　Noah had shattered everything.

　　Four days later, I wasn't going back to Noah's mansion. I returned to the Lightning Pack—the mid-sized independent pack where my father once served as Beta. Since marrying Noah and becoming Luna of the Frostridge Pack, I'd rarely visited. I stayed in my Aunt Precy’s house together with her three sons, my cousins.This was my longest stay in years.

　　The television screen flickered when news suddenly flashed. My wolf Tiana released a low growl in my mind as I saw the photo—two painfully familiar faces captured in a covert shot. Though taken secretly, their faces appeared crystal clear.

　　"Is that Alpha Noah?" Aunt Precy's voice turned sharp. Her finger jabbed at the screen while her green eyes burned into me.

　　I turned my face away, unable to meet her gaze.

　　"Tell me what really happened, Paige." Aunt Precy's voice dropped to that dangerous calm. "Is this the reason why you’re acting strange?Why you refuse to return to your mate's territory?"

　　I saw Alex，one of my cousins，going the stairs, his wolf hearing having caught the conversation. His eyes locked onto the television and his forehead creased with an angry snarl. "Noah's cheating on you? What the actual f**k, Paige!"

　　I rose from the couch. I winced when my injured wrist accidentally hit the couch. Aunt Precy said I needed surgery, but how could I think about that when my entire world was crumbling?

　　"Paige!" Aunt Precy's command held the force, making my shoulders tense instinctively. That's when the dam broke. Hot tears spilled down my cheeks as the truth I'd been avoiding crashed over me - my mate was rejecting me, our bond meaningless to him now.

　　Now his affair is being publicly exposed on television—broadcasting my humiliation for the entire world to see. I don’t know what to do anymore.

　　Tiana howled mournfully in my mind. Unable to bear the pain and shame, I ran upstairs and locked myself in my bedroom, the scent of my distress saturating the small space as I collapsed onto the bed. I cried my heart out. I cried in pain. As I slept through the anguish, hoping that when I woke up, I’d feel better, Tiana curled protectively, whispering promises that we would survive this."

　　Morning brought no relief. Instead, shocking news exploded across pack channels - Noah had been hospitalized after being attacked. I have a hunch about who did it but I’m too worried to confront him.

　　I was halfway down the stairs when Ares blocked my path, his flaring with protective fury. "Where do you think you're running, paige? Back to that bastard?" His voice was all rough edges, the wolf barely contained.

　　I met his glowing eyes. "It was you who attacked him, wasn't it?"

　　His jaw clenched. "He deserved worse for dishonoring his Luna."

　　I saw Aunt Precy, Achilles, and Alex looking at us. I knew Ares alone couldn't defeat Noah—an Alpha leading an entire pack. My other two cousins must have joined the fight

　　"Why would you do that?" My voice rose. "Do you have any idea what consequences come with attacking a Pack Alpha? Are you trying to start a war between our packs?"

　　"You're still defending him?" Ares snarled. "After he shamed you before the entire Frostridge pack?" His hands clenched into fists. "Wake the f**k up, Paige! That bastard isn't worth your tears!He disrespected you. He hurt you. How stupid can you be? Let him go now!"

　　I shook my head, wiping at my tears. Shoving past him, I ran out before my family could stop me. I heard them calling me but I ignored them. I called a taxi and went to the hospital where Noah is admitted.

　　At the hospital, my heart pounded. Then I smelled them—Noah's cedar and whiskey scent tangled with Thalia's cloying jasmine. The door swung open to reveal my worst nightmare.

　　There he was—Noah, already half-naked, his hands all over her. Thalia lay beneath him, that whimper escaping her as he yanked her skirt up. His fingers hooked into her panties and dug into her thighs, hard, like he was testing how much she could take. And f**k, she was loving it, arching into him like some desperate b***h in heat.

　　My chest burned.

　　His mouth was on her neck—the same spot he used to bite me.Noah pinned her, his c**k pressed against her entrance but not pushing in. Thalia whimpered, hips arching—begging without words. His grip on her thighs tightened.

　　Our eyes locked.And that bastard didn’t even stop as if he weren't injured.
