I was overwhelmed over everything that just happened, but I didn’t care. He was Ashe, my Ashe, and he was wrapped in my arms, safe. I should have paid more attention to the fact that we were still not safe, still inside the Unseelie Court. I should have looked at our surroundings more, something…anything…but all I could see was him. Wrapping against me. All I could feel was him, his heart beating fast against me. I could barely think of anything else except the silky feel of his hair running in between my fingers, or the soft spirals his fingers were pressing into my back. Despite the dress being in the way I shivered, feeling the heat from his fingers on my skin. He was dirty, covered in dried blood, but I didn’t care. His shirt was gone, pieces of it were probably still in the last cage
