Gerri sat at the tacky table in the dive diner on the waterfront, watching Flashman down a burger so fast it made her stomach ache. He slurped on his strawberry milkshake with enthusiasm, playing the happy homeless guy to the hilt, even leering at the young waitress who did her best to avoid him.
