Sana “Kids! RUN!” Dad shouts from the hall. His voice is calm, but I soon hear the familiar sound of his thunderous shift. A sound that could rival the explosion that woke every one of us even Yume wakes up when Dad shifts. I throw myself to my feet. The explosion took out the sleep from my system but hearing Dad shout truly sobered me up. I clutch on to the quilt that Mom made from my baby clothes, a tradition of hers to make for everyone in the family. They say that in a fire you can only remember the truly important things to save and I can’t think of anything else in my room that I want to save more than this.
