As soon as the elevator door opened, Alistair rushed down the hallway to their room in search of Allison. When he left the cabin, he was surprised to see the car still parked outside and no sign of Allison. Remus informed him that Allison had shifted and raced back to the mansion instead, according to what Marz told him.
Alistair pushed the door to the bedroom open to find Allison pacing their room with uneven breath and the Alpha paused, turning to face her mate with teary eyes as Alistair stepped into the room, shutting the door behind him.
"I messed up. I failed them." Allison murmured as Alistair walked over to her and the Alpha engulfed her in his arms, and he led her to sit on the bed.
