All heads turned to me as soon as I walked into the lobby of Lancaster Premiums, and almost instantly, I wished that the ground would just open up and swallow me.
The huge space, which had been filled up with excited chatter and laughter right before I walked in suddenly turned so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. When the silence lifted, all that reached my ears were hushed whispers and the occasional snicker.
I let out a deep sigh, shaking my head in disappointment.
God, it was even worse than I had anticipated.
