We walked to the lake hand in hand. His fingers are threaded with mine as Ambrose led us to the hammock facing the lake and the direction of the rising sun. The sky is turning orange and I cannot wait to see the sunrise. Ambrose draped his arms around me and pulled me closer to him. He kissed the top of my head before sighing. I looked at him and saw him staring out the woods. “What’s wrong?” I asked. He turned to me before shaking his head. “Nothing,” he replied but I know that there is something else that’s bothering him. I continued to stare at him but he just smiled before leaning down to plant a soft kiss on my cheek.
